What Should You Know About Computers? September 8, 2017

Any of you would agree if it is said that computers are the rulers of 21st century. Because, we have come to a stage where we cannot do anything without the use of computers. Since the time it was invented and introduced to this world by Charles Babbage between 1833 to 1871, there were so many developments took place to bring the computer to what it is today. However, talking about computers could take days and months. There are plenty of areas to consider.

Having said that, let’s take a look at the things that you should know about computers. Even though your plan may not be to become a professional in computer science or Information Technology, it is of utmost importance to have a general idea about the following elements as someone who lives in the era of technological developments.

 Hardware

This is basically what you can physically touch and feel. The monitor, mouse, keyboard, cables and other stuff that you can see. For instance, even an advanced ethernet to fiber converter can be considered as hardware.

 Software

Although you have everything related to hardware, those will not be operative without a software. Generally, the operating system is the main software of a computer. Windows, Linux, Ubuntu, Mac OS are some of the examples for operating systems. In addition, there are various other softwares that you have to install, to get the maximum use of your device. It shouldn’t necessarily be a computer. Can even be a laptop or a tab.

 Live ware

Without human beings, none of the devices cannot be operated. When it comes to computers, live ware means the person who uses the computer. When you log in, you will the live ware. Simple as that.

 Networks

Take a small business for consideration. There will be at least ten to fifteen active computers at a given point of time. A network will help you to connect those computers together. Basically a LAN (Local Area Network), is used within an organization. If you want to make it faster, you can go for a 10g media converter, while increasing the overall efficiency.

It would be great if you can have some idea about these elements of a computer. The more you learn, more you earn. Just assume that you come across a small problem inside the CPU. If you do not know anything about hardware, you will have to consult an expert and get it sorted. After that you must pay him his charge. Instead, if you had a rough idea as to what has gone wrong, you would have fixed it out on your own. It saves your money.

Hence, try to learn something little, rather than knowing nothing.
